32 new roads built across Al Qusais; vehicle capacity tripled to 1,500 per hour
The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has completed major infrastructure projects in Al Qusais and other residential areas, boosting road capacity and connectivity for thousands of residents. With improvements like new roads and street lighting, the region is set for enhanced accessibility and smoother traffic flow.
In Al Qusais Industrial areas 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, the RTA has undertaken extensive enhancements, including the construction of 32 new roads covering 10 kilometers and the installation of street lights along 43,000 meters. This development has significantly increased the road capacity, tripling it from 500 to 1,500 vehicles per hour in both directions. These improvements aim to facilitate smoother traffic flow and enhance connectivity with key streets and facilities in the area, benefiting around 60,000 residents.
Moreover, the RTA has completed internal road and street lighting projects in four residential areas: Margham, Lahbab, Al Lisaili, and Hatta, covering a total of 35 kilometers. In Margham, Lahbab, and Al Lisaili, significant road improvements have been made, accompanied by enhanced street lighting infrastructure, benefiting over 6,000 residents. These enhancements aim to improve accessibility, connect new residential communities with existing road networks, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
The completion of these projects underscores the RTA's commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure and ensuring seamless connectivity across various parts of Dubai. By investing in road expansions, street lighting, and other vital infrastructure, the authority aims to accommodate the growing population and support sustainable urban development in the emirate.
