Tragedy struck a family in Fujairah as two Emirati children, aged 8 and 7, lost their lives in a devastating house fire. Another child, aged 5, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Dibba Hospital for urgent medical care. The incident occurred early on Tuesday, June 25, at their residence in Al Tuwiyain, prompting swift action from the Civil Defence teams.

Upon receiving the distress call at 2 am, Civil Defence personnel promptly responded to the blaze, securing the premises and administering first aid to the injured. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway, with authorities yet to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic event.

Brigadier Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Fujairah Civil Defence Department, emphasized the importance of public cooperation as the summer season poses increased risks of electrical fires due to higher usage of cooling appliances. He advised residents to ensure the safety of their electrical installations and maintain vigilance in following safety guidelines.

Meanwhile, Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander in Chief of Fujairah Police, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and expressed hopes for the swift recovery of the injured child. The community has been urged to heed safety protocols and remain vigilant during this period of heightened risk.

This tragic incident serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of fire safety measures, particularly during the hot summer months when electrical appliances are in heavy use. Authorities continue to stress the need for preventive measures and adherence to safety guidelines to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.
