17 flights cancelled, 3 diverted due to inclement weather
Flight operations faced significant disruptions at Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Tuesday due to adverse weather conditions, resulting in the cancellation, delay, and diversion of several flights. Dubai Airports confirmed that 17 flights were impacted, with nine outbound and eight inbound flights cancelled, while three flights were diverted to other nearby airports. The inclement weather led to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across various parts of the UAE, prompting safety advisories from authorities. Passengers were urged to check directly with airlines for the latest flight information and to allow extra travel time to the airport, with Dubai Airports recommending the use of Dubai Metro for smoother transit. Flydubai and Etihad Airways also provided updates on their flight schedules, acknowledging the disruptions caused by the adverse weather and advising passengers to monitor their flight status closely. Flydubai emphasized online check-in and the use of self-service kiosks to expedite airport procedures, while Etihad Airways assured passengers of their commitment to assisting those affected by any flight disruptions. Despite the challenges posed by the weather, airlines and airport authorities expressed their dedication to minimizing inconvenience for passengers and ensuring their safety and comfort remained the top priority.
