10th UAE Chinese New Year Gala Enchants Dubai Opera
The vibrant spirit of the Chinese New Year came alive at the Dubai Opera as the 10th UAE Chinese New Year (CNY) Gala unfolded in a dazzling spectacle. Serving as a prelude to the upcoming Year of the Dragon, the gala was not only a cultural showcase but also a celebration of the strong bond between the Chinese expat community and their adopted home in the UAE.
With an estimated 300,000 Chinese expatriates in the UAE, the CNY Gala provided a joyous gathering for the community to revel in their heritage and traditions. The event gained additional significance as it coincided with the 40th anniversary of UAE-China relations, reinforcing the deep connection between the two nations.

'Over the past ten years, the UAE Chinese New Year Gala has continued to grow and develop, becoming not only a splendid annual event eagerly anticipated by the 300,000 Chinese in the UAE but also a significant stage for overseas Chinese to promote traditional Chinese culture and enhance world friendship," said Zhang Yiming.
Among the attendees was Joan, a Chinese resident in the UAE who, as a teacher, felt a deep connection to her cultural roots. Witnessing the celebration of Chinese traditions in her adopted home for the first time, Joan expressed excitement for the show in which her students were performing. The students had dedicated weeks to perfecting their dance routine, showcasing their talents on the grand stage, filling Joan with immense pride.
As the curtains closed on the Gala, laughter, applause, and the exchange of cultural expressions reverberated throughout the Dubai Opera.
