Recent surveys conducted by Premier Inn Middle East and Silentnight Arabia shed light on the sleep habits of UAE residents. Stress emerges as a primary disruptor of sleep, affecting nearly half of respondents. Financial worries, in particular, contribute significantly to stress levels among residents, highlighting the need for effective stress management strategies.

Various factors contribute to sleep disturbances, including temperature, electronic devices, and work-related concerns. Maintaining a cooler core body temperature, limiting electronic device use before bedtime, and establishing effective wind-down routines can mitigate these disruptions.

Experts recommend adults aim for seven to nine hours of quality sleep per night. Achieving this goal requires understanding individual sleep patterns and establishing consistent bedtime and wake-up routines. While the majority of residents report going to bed between 10 pm and midnight, many struggle with late-night sleep schedules, impacting their overall sleep quality.

Creating a conducive sleep environment involves managing room temperature, minimizing noise and light exposure, and engaging in relaxing activities before bedtime. Avoiding caffeine and heavy meals close to bedtime and incorporating calming rituals such as reading or listening to music can also enhance sleep quality.

During Ramadan, fasting individuals face additional challenges in maintaining adequate sleep. Strategies such as establishing a consistent sleep schedule, taking short daytime naps, and managing daytime activities to conserve energy can help mitigate sleep disruptions during fasting hours.
