  Crackdown on Online Platforms 

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced that the UAE has shut down 160,000 websites and social media accounts known for selling drugs, promoting illicit substances, and encouraging negative behavior, especially among young people. This decisive action was taken in collaboration with the Digital Quality of Life Council, which worked closely with social media companies to eliminate platforms promoting harmful content.

 Protecting the Next Generation 

Addressing the importance of safeguarding the youth, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the role of families, schools, and the media in nurturing a positive environment for the younger generation. He stressed that children are the cornerstone of the country's future development, highlighting the need for concerted efforts to shield them from negative influences.

 Enhancing Labor Market Competitiveness

In addition to addressing online threats, Sheikh Mohammed unveiled plans to restructure the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to bolster the competitiveness of the labor market. Recognizing the workforce as the backbone of the economy, he underscored the importance of protecting employees' rights and ensuring their well-being. Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted the significant coverage provided by the UAE's unemployment insurance scheme, benefiting over seven million workers.

 Advancing Clean Energy Initiatives

During the Cabinet meeting, Sheikh Mohammed announced the adoption of a national policy for the distribution and production of biofuels. This initiative aligns with the UAE's commitment to providing clean, sustainable, and low-carbon energy sources, furthering its efforts towards environmental conservation and energy sustainability.

 Passport Validity Extension 

The Cabinet approved an amendment to federal regulations governing citizenship and passports, extending the validity period of the Emirati passport from five to 10 years for individuals aged 21 and above. This decision streamlines administrative processes and enhances convenience for citizens, reflecting the government's commitment to serving the needs of its people.
