Residents in for a magnificent celestial 'bloom' on May 22
The UAE is set to experience a celestial 'bloom' on May 22 with the arrival of the 'Flower Moon.'
People living in the nation won't need binoculars or telescopes to see the Moon because it is so bright.
On May 22, the night sky of the United Arab Emirates will be graced by the full moon, also known as the Flower Moon, so stargazers might want to keep an eye out for it.
The 'Flower Moon' gets its name from the fact that this astronomical event sometimes occurs at the same time as flower blossoms around the globe.
Due to the Flower Moon's exceptionally bright light, inhabitants of Dubai won't need binoculars or telescopes to see it.

Position of advantage for images
The best time to take pictures of the Moon is when it is rising.
The perfect moment to take pictures is when the moon is rising, according to Hasan Al Hariri, CEO of the Dubai Astronomy Group. If you want to see the Flower Moon in all its glory, you should climb a hill or locate yourself in an open area.
The Planting Moon, the Milk Moon, and even the Hare Moon were among its alternative names.
Flower Moon is a popular name, but its roots are in Colonial American and Native American culture.
"Each full moon was given a name reflecting the season and natural cycles," says Sarath Raj of Amity University Dubai, who is also the project director of the Amity Dubai Satellite Ground Station and AmiSat. The 'Flower Moon' was given its name in recognition of the blossoming of flowers around the globe during the month of May, which is associated with growth and renewal.
It is the moon's position in its orbit around the Earth that causes the phenomenon of the full moon. "As it travels around the Earth, the moon changes phases." It is described that when the Moon is full, it rises at dusk and sets at dawn, appearing very bright and visible for the majority of the night.
The moon is full when it is perpendicular to Earth and the Sun, meaning that its illuminated side is facing down toward the planet. Because of this, the full moon is so luminous and noticeable throughout the night, from when it rises at sunset until it sets at sunrise.
Midnight is when the moon will set.
According to experts, the Flower Moon will still be a breathtaking sight as it moves across the night sky in the constellation Leo, even though the size and brightness difference compared to a regular full moon might be subtle.
Dubai residents and visitors alike will be able to marvel at the Flower Moon as it rises over the city on May 22 and 23. At sunset, this full moon in Leo will begin its ascent into the sky, where it will remain until it reaches a maximum elevation of 29 degrees above the horizon. It will be visible all night long until it sets at about 2 in the morning the following day, shining brightly with a magnitude of -10.37.
Raj emphasised that there is some uncertainty regarding the Moon's true distance from Earth at full moon. Between 225,000 and 252,000 miles (363,000 and 406,000 kilometers) is a possible range.
Other astronomical happenings in May
Skygazers in Dubai can enjoy more than just the Flower Moon in May. On May 5th and 6th, the fastest and brightest meteors of the year reached their peak during the spectacular Eta Aquariid meteor shower.
Until May 27, skywatchers can still catch occasional glimpses, Raj added. As a remnant of Halley's Comet, this shower peaked in the early morning hours and produced an average of about 100 meteors per hour.
