New health survey launched; data to help frame taxes on sugar, other harmful products
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) launches the National Health and Nutrition Survey 2024-25 to collect data for health policy formulation. The survey aims to analyze food consumption patterns, tobacco use, and overall living conditions in the UAE. It will cover various demographic groups and languages to ensure comprehensive insights. Results will inform policies on taxation, particularly on sugary products and other health-detrimental items. The collaboration of multiple government entities underscores the significance of this initiative in promoting public health awareness and encouraging healthier lifestyles nationwide.
