Navigating the UAE Pre-Approved Visa-On-Arrival for Indian Travelers

UAE Pre-Approved Visa
UAE Pre-Approved Visa

In a recent development, some Indian travelers flying to Dubai via Emirates Airline are eligible for a pre-approved visa-on-arrival, providing a convenient option that can be extended once during their visit. Administered by VFS Global, the pre-approved visa aims to streamline the arrival process, allowing holders to skip queues and head straight to the immigration counter upon landing in the UAE.

 Extended Stay Option:

VFS Global, the entity processing these pre-approved visas, has confirmed that the 14-day single-entry visa, initially issued to Indian passport holders with a US visa, green card, or EU/UK residency valid for at least six months, can be extended for an additional 14 days. The extension process can be completed at the office of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai Airport Free Zone, requiring a fee of Dh250.

**Cost and Application Process:**

The pre-approved visa service comes at a cost of $69 (Dh250). To initiate the application process, eligible travelers must apply "no more than 60 days and no less than two days before their arrival date in Dubai." Emirates Airlines, in collaboration with VFS Global, facilitates the online application process through the airline's digital platforms. Travelers booking a flight with Emirates can access the online UAE visa application site via 'Manage an existing booking' on the airline's digital platforms.

 Streamlined Arrival Experience:

One of the key advantages of this pre-approved UAE visa is the ability for travelers to bypass the usual Marhaba counter/bank visit for visa-on-arrival fee payment and receipt collection before immigration. This streamlined process allows for a more efficient and seamless entry into the UAE, enhancing the overall travel experience.

 Guidelines for Application:

VFS Global emphasizes that the processing timelines for visa applications align with the guidelines set by Emirates. It's essential for travelers to adhere to the application window, applying no earlier than 60 days and no later than two days before their planned arrival in Dubai.

  VFS Global's Role:

While VFS Global is responsible for the non-judgmental and administrative tasks related to the application process, the extension and approval of the visa fall under the purview of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs. Travelers can rely on VFS Global for a smooth application experience, ensuring that all necessary requirements are met within the specified guidelines.

  Conclusion:

The introduction of the pre-approved UAE visa-on-arrival for eligible Indian travelers marks a significant step in enhancing the efficiency and convenience of entry procedures. The option for extension further adds flexibility for those planning an extended stay. With streamlined processes and clear guidelines, this initiative is poised to contribute to a positive and hassle-free travel experience for Indian visitors to Dubai via Emirates Airline.
