A 31-year-old mother in Dubai, Maryam Mohd Kalim Siddiqui, and her premature baby were both saved in a near-death C-section after Maryam suffered a severe cardiac arrest due to hypertension. This was her second pregnancy, and she had a history of hypertension from her previous childbirth. Rushed to International Modern Hospital, Maryam's heart stopped for over 30 minutes, prompting doctors to perform a perimortem C-section to save both lives. Despite the rare and critical nature of the procedure, both mother and baby, named Musa, showed remarkable resilience. Maryam recovered without neurological deficits, while Musa, weighing 1.3kg at birth, remains in the NICU for continued care. The successful outcome highlights the importance of effective teamwork and coordination in emergency situations, with the medical team at International Modern Hospital praised for their exceptional care and expertise.
