List of victims released by UAE after attacks blamed on Iran

The UAE has named civilians who were killed in missile and drone attacks from Iranian targets hitting the country recently, amid a series of defensive actions that authorities reported were in effect against incoming threats.

UAE Ministry of Defence said on March 17 its air defence systems shot down a total of 10 ballistic missiles and 45 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) fired by Iran.

As the UAE continues to keep distance learning in place past spring break, schools everywhere are gearing up for all contingencies so that learning can continue.

On Tuesday, the UAE government announced that distance learning will remain in place across nurseries, schools and higher education institutions for a further two weeks following the end of spring break on March 22. The educational sector had recently moved online from March 2 after the Iranian bombardment of the country and announced an early spring break starting March 9.

Tourism and aviation sectors in UAE are resilient

Tourism and aviation sectors in the UAE continue to show resilience even as regional tensions still abound, with authorities promoting normal operations and robust support measures for travel disruptions.

Between March 1 to 12, over 1.4 million passengers traveled via UAE airports and national carriers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) announced in a statement.

Gargash: UAE could help secure Strait of Hormuz

Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates, said Tuesday that the UAE might join international efforts led by the United States to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz. But there is not yet a formal plan and talks are still ongoing, he added.

Speaking during an online event organized by the Council on Foreign Relations, comments reported by Reuters and Sky News Arabia, Gargash said: “We all bear the responsibility to keep trade and energy flow continuing.”

On March 17, the UAE's air defence systems intercepted 10 Iranian ballistic missiles and 45 drones, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The ministry said the interceptions were part of an ongoing operation against what it called continuing attacks aimed at the country.
