UAE: Wizz Air opens bookings for Abu Dhabi flights; airfares start from Dh312
Tickets have been made available for Wizz Air ultra-low-cost carrier flights to Abu Dhabi and they are set to take off from next month. In May this year, the carrier announced it was quitting UAE operations citing multiple factors.
On its website, it stated that direct flights between Katowice (Poland) and Krakow (Poland) to the UAE capital city would commence from November 20, 2025. Ticket prices are as low as 309 Polish Zloty (Dh312).
In a statement earlier this year, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi said that from September 1, it is suspending its operations and will also exit the joint venture “due to the current geopolitical situation in the region, ongoing regulatory headwinds and significant competitive challenges with an influx of other budget carriers”.
“As a result of the suspension of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi operations as part of this strategic realignment, Wizz Air will suspend all locally based flight operations effective 1 September 2025 and intends to exit from the joint venture going forward and will focus on its core markets,” the airline stated in the notice on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) where its shares are traded.
“I want to thank our highly committed employees for their tireless efforts and devotion to the company over the years in building the WIZZ brand in these new and dynamic markets. We have had a very good journey in the Middle East and we are very proud of what we have been able to achieve in this short space of time,” Wizz Air’s CEO József Váradi said at the time of the withdrawal.
Flights are also available between Bucharest to Abu Dhabi from November 30, 2025; Budapest to Abu Dhabi from December 1, 2025; and Larnaca to Abu Dhabi on December 14.
“These are some of the cheapest deals you can find online at such short notice for flights to Abu Dhabi,” it added on its website.
