The UAE has been pleased to see a ceasefire deal being announced and the release of detainees, hostages and captives in Gaza Strip.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, appreciated Qatar, Egypt and the US for working on this settlement.

He said he hoped that it would lead to the relief of the pain, no more death, no more crisis, and no more tragedy in the Strip. "We need the two sides to respect all of their promises and commitments to stop suffering of the Palestinian captives and Israeli hostages," the Foreign Minister reiterated.

Sheikh Abdullah also reiterated UAE’s firm belief in the need for humanitarian assistance, whether by land or air, to be brought quickly, sustainably and without disruption to civilians under dire humanitarian circumstances for more than 15 months.

The minister added that the world must embrace all measures to revive the Middle East peace process and to end illegal acts which jeopardise the two-state solution and a Palestinian state. He reiterated the UAE’s commitment to peace and justice, and the rights of the brotherly Palestinians.
