Today will be partly cloudy to cloudy with occasional dusty with a risk of rain in the islands and north, says the National Centre of Metreology (NCM).

Rain will be present in parts of the nation, but it will be damp by Monday night and Tuesday morning. This could cause cloud or mist to form especially on some internal surfaces.

The NCM was in yellow alert for gusty north westerly winds that could become blustery and up to 45 km/hr. This will bring blowing dust and sand and diminish horizontal visibility to under 2,500m sometimes on islands and some western regions from 11pm on Sunday to 12pm on Monday.

Sea to be rough to moderate in Arabian Gulf and rough at first becoming moderate to slight in Oman Sea.

With the UAE entering winter mode, things should get a bit more comfortable in the next few weeks. Temperatures are as low as 8oC up in the mountains and as high as 29oC in the interior.

"From December 16, the area will see north-west winds and colder airmasses with a gradual temperature decline, says a climate expert Dr Ahmed Habib on December 12. Temperatures across UAE are set to cool by 5-6°C starting from the west and slowly moving to the rest of the UAE.

‘In a progressive way, Dubai will have the maximum of 25-26 degrees and minimum of 12 degrees.
