Pakistanis are advised against seeking employment while on a tourist visa in the UAE. Travelers should also ensure they fulfill the requirements for a visit visa, which include hotel booking, round-trip tickets, and enough money.

Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, encouraged his fellow Pakistanis to adhere to the UAE's laws and guidelines, emphasizing that each resident and visitor is a reflection of their country.

Pakistanis visiting UAE on a tourist visa must possess a return ticket, Dh3,000 in finances, and hotel reservation. When you are on a tourist visa, you should only engage in tourist activities such as visiting museums, mosques, malls, etc. Avoid looking for employment opportunities during your stay on a tourist visa. Individuals seeking employment opportunities in the UAE are advised to apply for a job-seeker visa, while those intending to work should secure an employment visa before arriving in the country.

The ambassador mentioned contacting the Pakistan Government to propose airport inspection of UAE tourist visa holders to verify they comply with the criteria.

In October 2022, the UAE introduced a "Job Exploration Visa" aimed at drawing in younger talent and skilled professionals to investigate potential job openings. In the past, job-seekers used to come on a tourist visa regularly to search for work. Yet, the tradition extends beyond Pakistani societies. Many people from different countries come to the UAE in search of employment opportunities during their stay.

Legal professionals also recommend that individuals must follow the law and acquire the "Job Seeker Visa" of the UAE if they wish to explore job prospects in the Emirates.

Follow the rules

The ambassador emphasized the importance of Pakistani residents in the UAE obeying the laws and policies of the government.

Respecting and adhering to the local policies is crucial. Every individual from Pakistan who represents the country is considered an ambassador. The way he/she behaves is a reflection of Pakistan. "Consequently, he must perform at his highest level to accurately represent Pakistan," he emphasized.

Around 1.7 million citizens of Pakistan reside and are employed in the United Arab Emirates. They make up the second largest group of expatriates in the UAE, following the Indian community of 3.7 million.

Each year, approximately 600,000 to 800,000 Pakistanis travel overseas for employment and tourism, with the primary destinations being the GCC countries, Europe, and the US.

Ban on traveling beggars

The Pakistani embassy has also requested Islamabad to impose a travel restriction on individuals deported for beggary.
We also mentioned that individuals arrested and expelled for begging should be subject to a restriction on traveling to prevent them from going to another foreign nation. The ambassador stated that upon deportation, they must be imprisoned in Pakistan as it is a significant matter.

Before, the Pakistani government was informed that numerous individuals were turning to begging in other nations; therefore, it necessitated stringent actions to address this issue.

Sending out experts abroad

Ambassador Tirmizi commended the UAE for its economic growth, noting the country's advancement to a stage where there is less need for manual labor and a higher demand for skilled professionals and white-collar workers.
The United Arab Emirates requires IT professionals, bankers, physicians, nurses, and specialists in various other sectors. Both Japan and South Korea are also in search of skilled labor. Europe has an increasing elderly population, therefore requiring qualified nurses and therapists. Tirmizi emphasized the need to educate our healthcare staff to recognize openings in the UAE and GCC regions, as well as in European and Japanese markets due to the increasing number of elderly individuals.

The ambassador disclosed their proposal to establish nursing schools in the country due to the high demand for nurses, particularly in Western nations.

Certified and trained nurses are in high demand worldwide, including in the UAE.

Significant input from individuals from Pakistan

The ambassador highlighted the fact that Pakistanis have been playing a role in the UAE's development since its inception, assisting in the establishment of various organizations within the nation.

Pakistanis have been instrumental in the development of the UAE since its inception.
