UAE: Two dead, three injured in Sharjah school collapse
In Sharjah, a school under construction saw a tragic accident: its roof caved in. This led to the unfortunate deaths of two workers and injured another three.
The disaster took place in Kalba City, with the news breaking on Sunday, September 8. Upon hearing of the incident, response teams rushed into action. The head of the local police force, Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Khamoudi, shared that those injured were offered immediate treatment.
The severity of their injuries varied, but none severe, thankfully. The victims belonged to various Arab and Asian nations. Removing the bodies of the departed from the accident site was the unfortunate task that followed.
In the wake of this incident, a brigade of specialist teams appeared on the scene. The group comprised Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, Kalba Comprehensive Police Station, Crime Scene Team, National Ambulance, and Kalba City Municipality.
To prevent any more damage than what had occurred. Now, the site is under control, the injured have received necessary relief, and they've been transported to a hospital for further medical attention, according to Al-Hamoudi. Sharjah Police, with its ongoing probes, has taken the lead on understanding how such a tragedy could unfold. As they shared over social media, their focus is on finding out why the roof collapsed.
