UAE: Smart paid parking service now operational in Sharjah

The municipality of Sharjah City rolled out smart paid parking services starting Sunday. 

Artificial intelligence controls the system which detects drivers' number plates automatically as they enter the parking yard. 

The Mawqef application allows drivers to complete their parking payment transactions. Users can pay through their e-wallet or by using their credit card. 

Motorists have the option to reserve paid parking for timeframes ranging from one day to one year and can select weekly or monthly payment plans.
