According to data released by Numbeo, a crowd-sourced online database, the UAE, which hosts a diversity of more than 200 nationalities, scored 84.5 on the Safety Index. The UAE is one of the home countries with good quality of living and safety and security.
Andorra, the tiny ski-mad nation found between France and Spain, led the chart with a score of 84.7, while the UAE came in second, on 84.5.
The march in front of the USA and the Kingdom of Great Britain are the Gulf states, headed by Qatar in third place and Oman in fifth place. Ranked after it are Qatar (Safety Index: 84.2) and Oman (81.7 points).
Saudi Arabia was ranked 14th on the list with 76.1 Safety Index points, whereas Bahrain was two places behind the Kingdom in 16th with 75.5 Safety Index points. At a Safety Index score of 67.2, Kuwait came 38th.
Pakistan in 63rd spot with 56.3 points on the Safety Index were followed by India in 68th place with 55.7 Safety Index points. The Philippines was ranked 63rd with a score of 56.9. Nepal, the Himalayan Kingdom was placed 47th with a score of 63.3 points.
The United Kingdom (87th– it scored 51.7 Safety Index points-out-of-100) and the United States (equal 89th– 50.8points) fared little better.
The UAE is ranked 21st in the World Happiness Index 2025, which is an improvement, and ahead of the UK, the US, Germany, France, Singapore and all Arab countries.
The UAE had the unique achievement in 2020 of being the only country in the world to possess three of the planet's top 10 safest cities based on a global crime index.
As per the crowd-sourced global data website Numbeo, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah ranked in the top 10 cities in the world with the lowest crime rate, with the number two, number six and number seven ranks, respectively, among about 400 cities surveyed worldwide.
For its part, the UAE also ranked third in the list of the safest countries in the world and 24th in the quality of life index. On the other hand, Dubai is the fourth top food destination in the world on social media, ahead of Sydney, Chicago and Paris, according to a global survey by an international travel firm.
