UAE President reaffirms commitment to advancing health at home and globally
On World Health Day, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed conveyed the country will remain committed to enhancing health globally and within the country on social media.
In a statement on social media on Monday, Sheikh Mohamed said: "Investing in health is an investment for a better future for societies."
On World Health Day, we stress that the UAE is still developing its approach, which prioritises health as a leading pillar for development and promotes a culture of healthy lifestyle and awareness against the dangers of diseases and their negative impacts on the individual, society and the country, His Highness the President of the UAE wrote.
He added: "The world is facing multiple health challenges and the UAE always seeks to be part of the international collective action to provide support on this front and promote innovations and scientific solutions for the common good of humanity."
This health initiative is a microcosm of the larger goals the UAE has for 2025 — to make it the Year of Community.
On January 27, Sheikh Mohamed urged "everyone who considers the UAE their home to dedicate their efforts to building their society".
Together, we will deepen social ties, create a shared sense of agency, and drive inclusive and sustainable growth potential, he added in a social media post.
In parallel, the country has also witnessed a better ranking in the World Happiness Index 2025 so far as placed on top of the UK, the US, Germany, France, Singapore and all Arab countries, leaving 2025 announced as Year of Community response by the country.
However, the UAE ranks 16th globally in donating money, 19th globally in volunteering time, and yet 67th globally in helping a stranger, remarkably.
