UAE President, Greek PM discuss regional developments

A phone call on Sunday was made by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Greece during which economic cooperation between their respective countries including trade and investment was emphasized.

This exchange is a component of the campaign to serve mutual needs in the areas of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership which was formed in the year 2020. Both leaders reaffirmed their intention to work together and underscored the need for optimizing the partnership for richer economic growth and development.
 

On the call, Sheikh Mohamed and Prime Minister Mitsotakis further discussed a number of ongoing regional and international matters including the worsening situation in Gaza and Lebanon.

It is with deep contacts and approach to the Middle East that they thrived to look for a level headed resolution calling for immediate international efforts for a stop in the violence. They also underlined the need for the types of violence against civilians and hostilities that flout international humanitarian norms to come to an end and for immediate humanitarian relief to be injected to people affected.
 

The leaders highlighted the importance of addressing the cause of the conflict, for it is the scope of the conflict that constitutes the cause for concern regarding regional stability.

They agreed on the need for taking a joint international effort to address such challenges and to seek a feasible and credible political resolution. The President and the Prime Minister reiterated the need for fair and lasting peace efforts based on the long held two state policy to ensure all parties achieve stability and peace in the long run.

The appeal depicts the commitment of both UAE and Greece towards deepening their relations and also seeking to be part of solutions to both global and regional problems.

It is in this context that the two counties wish to work within the parameters of the strategic guidelines and ensure the fast and steady development of peace and security including their common objectives and useful for the international community.

Make contributions on ways in which the UAE and Greece are coming together in the promotion of peace, stability and economic development in the light of current regional challenges.
