UAE pledges $200,000 to UN life-saving refugee programme for 2025
UAE to provide $200,000 (Dh734,600) for UN refugee programme in 2025 : this was announced on Wednesday.
This donation demonstrates UAE’s support to save millions of lives and aid refugees around the world through the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), said Jamal Al Musharakh, UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN and other International Organisations in Geneva.
"As partners of the UNHCR’s work, we stand once again behind the humane and dignity of all," Al Musharakh added.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi thanked the UAE for their cooperation and willingness to ease the suffering of refugees.
The news was made at the UNHCR’s annual pledge conference.
