UAE: New Dubai-Sharjah intercity bus to begin operating from May 2
The intercity bus line of Sharjah and Dubai will begin operations on Friday, May 2, as was reported by RTA on Monday.
As per the announcement by RTA, the new Route E308 will operate from Stadium Bus Station at Al Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station at Sharjah. Each passenger will pay Dh12 for a one-way trip in the intercity bus service.
Also, other buses will change some of the routes effective May 2.
The RTA said that changes in the bus services will “provide passengers with a smoother, better, and more comfortable ride." The improved routes include:
Routes 66 & 67: Al Ruwayah Farm areas have been provided with a new stop.
Route 56: Now extended to DWC Staff Village.
Route 44: Now includes a diversion from Al Rebat Street to Dubai Festival City.
Route 24: The Al Nahda 1 area has been modified.
Route 17: Last stop now at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
Route C26: Change of bus stop from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
Route E16: Now concludes at Union Bus Station, not Al Sabkha Bus Station.
Route F12: Now re-routed via Kuwait Street; the section between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park has been cut.
Route F27: Relocated from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Landside Bus Stop 2.
Route F47: Rerouted within Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
Route F54: Served the new JAFZA South labor camp.
Route X92: Bus stop relocated from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Landside Bus Stop 1.
As stated by RTA’s Public Transport Agency Planning and Business Development Director Adel Shakeri, “RTA is focused on increasing the public bus service coverage area and integrating it with other transport systems.”
