The last long weekend of the year is fast approaching – and to those who have not made any arrangements for the UAE National Day holidays, keep in mind that there are venues where fireworks displays can be viewed free of charge. Why wait for New Year’s Eve to witness the stunning display of fireworks when it can be viewed a month in advance?


There are some well-known family attractions in the UAE where the skies will be lit up in the colours of the country so you may well wish to plan your celebrations around these sites.


Previously known as the UAE National Day which is now Eid Al Etihad which is in honor of the unification of the seven emirates on the 2nd of December in the year 1971. This year the country celebrates its 53 rd Birthday. The official ceremony for this year’s Eid Al Etihad in which a number of the Rulers and leaders of the country usually gather for the celebrations, for this year the venue will be Al Ain city.


Although not all viewers will be able to enjoy the live streaming of the official show, the celebratory atmosphere will permeate everywhere.
These are the areas where one can see astonishing fireworks display:


Dubai


There will be some firework displays at these locations from December 1 up to 3, free of charge:

 

  • Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR as seen on december 1 at 8pm

  • Hatta Sign at 8 pm on December 2

  • At 9: 10 pm for the Dubai Festival City Mall

  • Al Seef on December 3 at 9 pm

In the period spanning November 29 to December 3, Global Village shall execute a firework display at 9pm on each of the five days of the festivities. 


On the other hand, those customers looking to visit Dubai Parks and Resorts shall also witness some fireworks in the evening at Riverland. The Riverland is still chargeable at a nominal fee of Dh 15 but, if you are a hotel guest in the complex or have a theme park ticket, entry to Riverland will be free of charge. Below is the firework schedule:


In the UAE on December 1 and 2 at Riverland at Dubai Parks and Resorts at 7pm and 9.30pm.


Abu Dhabi

Celebrations for Eid Al Etihad will be equally luxurious in the Capital. The night sky will be alive with colors that bring happiness and excitement to families and friends.


Here's where you can catch the fireworks;

 

  • Yas Bay Waterfront: 2nd December, 9pm  

  • Yas Marina Circuit: 2nd December, 9pm (Although one can go free of charge to see the show, at Yas Marina Circuit it is necessary to register for the event on the official website.)    

  • Al Maryah Island (Waterfront Promenade): 2nd December and 3rd December, 9pm

If you plan to visit a prestigious Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, you will not only enjoy the fireworks but you will also be treated to a spectacular cultural event that showcases performances of Emirati folk arts, heritage sporting competitions, and dances. You only pay Dh10 for entry and it is free for children below 3 years of age, seniors over the age of sixty, and people of determination.

Sheikh Zayed Festival, Al Wathba Certainly: 1-3 December

Another festival that is al Ain based, the Mother of the Nation Festival (MOTN) will also be offering guests a fire, and quite technology based, on top of concerts and several activities followed. Tickets for MOTN start from Dh25.
