According to the airline, passengers booked on these services are being helped with travel arrangements.

Because of the ongoing Israeli-Hezbollah conflict, a number of UAE carriers have terminated their flight services to Beirut.
Low-cost carrier Flydubai announced its inability to carry passengers to Beirut on September 24 and 25 due to political instability in the area.

Flydubai also, has recognized that “there are people who have specific rebooking / refund options who will be getting it,” a spokesperson added on Tuesday. It is recommended that passengers make such arrangements via the airline's call center or their relevant agents.

Likewise, Etihad airways that is based in the capital Abu Dhabi, ceased its operations to and fro beirut on September 24, Tuesday.

Flights impacted are EY535 Abu Dhabi-Beyrouth and EY538 Beyrouth-Abu Dhabi. These customers are being re-accommodated as well.

Etihad is observing the current Middle East developments and remains in touch with relevant authorities. Further details are obtainable by dialing the Etihad Airways Contact Centre on +971 600 555 666 (UAE) or through the website www.etihad.com or the app.

The Israeli bombardment of Lebanon on Monday killed at least 492, including 35 children, according to Lebanon's health ministry. It is worth mentioning that Israel's and Hezbollah's military exchanges began last October after the attack from Hamas and other Palestinian forces on Israel which was unprecedented.

Canceled Emirates flights

The national airliner of the Dubai emirate and its official website do not have any updates available. But, according to the stated website, some Beirut flights won’t depart as scheduled.

Two flights EK953 and EK957 were booked on the 24 and 25 September respectively and were canceled ‘ on account of the operational reasons’.

Previously, the UAE carriers confirmed that their national laws with regard to bringing pagers and walkie-talkies would be respected, as was the case of earlier UAE carriers. This clarification was made after portable communication devices, such as the ones used by Hezbollah members, exploded causing fatalities and injuries to many.

A flydubai spokesperson said the carrier “follows all directives issued by the local authorities”.

Etihad Airways was quoted as saying: “Etihad Airways has restricted the operation of scheduled flights from and to the region of Beirut. We track every Global security event round the clock. Safety is of utmost importance therefore there is no flight that is executed if it has not been safely cleared first.”
