UAE jobs: Flydubai hires nearly 90% staff from Dubai; how to apply

Flydubai, which has ordered 225 aircraft worth $37 billion (Dh135.7 billion) at the ongoing Dubai Airshow 2025, hires close to nine out of 10 of its employees in Dubai.

“The talent pool has grown so much over the last number of years. Dubai and UAE have really become a lot more developed in terms of the availability of talent,” Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai said.

“We do recruit overseas every once in a while. Maybe 90 per cent of the people we recruit are brought here to Dubai. We don’t go out (of the country). We are so blessed that we don’t have to worry about the availability of people,” he added in a media briefing at the airshow on Wednesday.

“We developed our own programme and trained every pilot from the beginning, and developed engineers ourselves; that will help us in the future,” he added.
As part of the company’s ongoing strategic growth plans, the carrier’s current recruitment drive has increased the number of flydubai employees to more than 6,500 across functions, a growth of 10 per cent from the number of employees in 2024, the carrier announced in August 2025.

Airbus, the European aircraft manufacturer, had earlier said that more than 265,000 people will need to be employed in the UAE and across the Middle East aviation sector over the next 20 years.

In particular, it is estimated that 69,000 new pilots, almost 64,000 new technicians, and 132,000 cabin crew members will be needed as the aviation network and traffic continues to develop in the Middle East.

Dubai: Jobseekers in Dubai and the UAE can apply for interesting positions at the airline online through its website, followed by an online assessment test, a video interview and review of the application for the cabin crew role.

Cabin crew candidates will be offered basic salary, plus accommodation allowance and transportation allowance of Dh8,275. In addition, Plus crew is offered variable flying pay, with an average monthly payout of Dh4,500, based on an average of 90 flying hours.

Plus, employees are provided with medical insurance, end of service benefits, paid annual leave of 30 days, annual leave ticket and concessional tickets for family and friends.

Flydubai has listed dozens of vacancies for multiple roles including software and technical engineers, officer for crew scheduling, manager for crew training compliance and safety and many others.
