UAE: Indian expat wins Range Rover from Big Ticket after trying luck for nearly a decade
Abu Dhabi: After a decade of entering Abu Dhabi’s Big Ticket draw, an Indian expat in the UAE secured a luxury car as his prize. Organisers announced on Monday that Babulingam Paul Thurai became the winner of the Series 272 Big Ticket draw by driving off with a Range Rover Velar.
The 39-year-old civil engineer from Tamil Nadu who has made Sharjah his home for nine years has experienced a dramatic change in fortune.
His discovery of Big Ticket happened ten years ago when he began buying tickets together with his colleagues for five years. He took the chance of buying tickets alone every month in recent years and finally received his reward.
Speaking about his excitement, Thurai said: I became completely overwhelmed with happiness when I learned I had won. Winning this ticket created a truly remarkable experience for both me and my family.
What will he do?
He chose not to take ownership of the car. He explained his intention to sell the car prize to pay off financial obligations while prioritizing his children's education.
Thurai maintains his determination to play for luck despite gaining significant relief and hope from his win. He committed to stay involved with Big Ticket while urging others to join him in believing and buying tickets because their luck might come next.
Many chances to win
A single ticket holder will receive Dh15 million as the grand prize this March. Big Ticket is awarding 10 fortunate customers with the opportunity to win Dh50,000 each during the live draw on April 3.
Anyone who buys two or more cash tickets together from March 1 through March 25 can join the Big Win Contest. Four winners will receive guaranteed cash prizes that range between Dh20,000 and Dh150,000. The Big Ticket website will reveal the names of the four selected participants on April 1.
Participants who enter March’s promotion will have the opportunity to win a luxurious Range Rover Velar. The organisers officially announced that on May 3 the lucky winner will be revealed.
