UAE: Illegal mothers seek visa amnesty for children
Of late, a large number of mothers who are illegally living in the UAE are going for visa amnesty with the major objective being looking for a better life for their children. New laws being implemented by the government aimed at curbing the problems of nonprofits residents are behind this action.
UAE has always been known for tough visa policies, which in certain instances makes people including mothers stay in the country un legally for a period of time. These mothers looking for brighter prospects and hoping for better lifestyles for their family have to bear the possibility of expulsion and legal void.
Hayat legal, a recent initiative launched by the UAE government among others, has given hope to these undocumented residents. People overstaying their visas or those who entered the country without a valid visa are on the other hand clamoring for the introduction of the visa amnesty programs. These programs are a part of the programs to regularize the illegal immigrants in the country and enable them to be productive members of society.
For the several women that have overstayed in the UAE, especially those with children, the amnesty presents a valid pathway of establishing new beginnings as well as securing their kid's future. Such women may find herself in adverse situations whereby their seeking healthcare, education or even employment opportunities are low or non-existent. They also envision making it legally so that they don’t have to disrupt their children’s education anymore.
The amnesty procedure is characterized by several actions, be it registering for the program, forms submission along with supplementary details as required and meeting some set terms of any pertinent immigration agency. For many, this is described as a godsend whereby they are enabled to sort out their immigration issues for a better tomorrow.
Groups in the community and advocates are key in aiding moms with the visa amnesty steps. They help with guidance, backup and aid to get the needed papers ready, and understand what the program requires. Their help is key to make sure those seeking amnesty can change to legal status and use the options open to them.
As the UAE keeps working on issues that people without documents face, the visa amnesty program is a nice move towards a more welcoming and helpful climate. For a lot of moms in the country without legal papers, this plan gives a fresh start and the shot to make a better tomorrow for their kids.
