UAE IGCSE/GCSE results: Most schools celebrate 100% pass rate

Students from British curriculum schools showed excitement and jubilation when they received their IGCSE/GCSE results on August 22.


GEMS Education's British curriculum schools have reported impressive results nearing the end of the 2024 summer exam season. This year, over 3,800 students from 23 schools in the UAE and Qatar completed a total of 26,400 IGCSE/GCSE exams. Within the GEMS network, 3,617 entries achieved a perfect grade 9 or A*, accounting for 14% of all entries; 22% earned 9-8 (A*); 40% received grades 9-7 (A*-A); 60% scored 9-6 (A*-B), and 83% were rated 9-4 (A*-C).


At Jumeirah College Dubai, it is worth mentioning that 27 percent of GCSE entries received a grade of 9 and 85 percent of students attained grades 9-6 (A*-B).


26% of entries at GEMS Wellington International School achieved grade 9 or A* and 81% scored 9-6 (A*-B); whereas at GEMS Cambridge International Private School–Sharjah, 45% of entries were graded 9-8 (A*).


Another notable accomplishment is seen at GEMS Wellington Academy-Silicon Oasis, with an impressive 60 percent of entries achieving grades 9-6 (A*-B). GEMS FirstPoint School – The Villa and GEMS Metropole School – Motor City both achieved 55 percent and 56 percent of entries at grades 9-6 (A*-B), respectively.

Maintaining a pass rate of 100%

  • This year, one-third of students earned A* grades.
  • Additionally, 46% of students achieved A* and A grades combined.


We are pleased to announce that we have successfully retained a 100 percent pass rate in all 28 subjects, showcasing some exceptional individual achievements. Our students exceeded their predicted CAT4 target grades by more than one grade. She added that the impressive outcome is a testament to the students' effort and dedication, as well as the crucial assistance and direction provided by our committed educators.


In the meantime, Brett Girven, who is the principal at Dubai British School Emirates Hills, remarked that exam results are just one way to gauge the great experience a student has in school. Nevertheless, the outcomes obtained by our Year 11 students in their initial public exams exhibit a glimpse of high quality, adding to another year of exceptional results.
