UAE: How Sheikh Zayed inspired this humanitarian to dedicate his life to help the needy
Don't worry, I paused to help out These words of Sheikh Zayed transformed the life of the Emirati humanitarian Ahmed Al Nazr Al Falasi.
Al Falasi, who heads the 'Ahmad Al Falasi Hope Maker Foundation', attributed his perception towards donating and serving the masses to the UAE's Founding Father, and to an instance during his military graduation when the leader was passing by and called the young graduate to his side.
Despite being flattered that the top dog had found the time to take him under his wing here, he felt undeserving of the charge thanks to his rank.
Former Ruler genie with the VoiceTravelling in his car in the company of Sheikh Zayed passes the second car and suddenly slows down to help workers put palm trees and says: "Don't worry, I stopped to help."
Al Falasi then tried to pull Sheikh Zayed into his car and said he would help the workers. But he said, "Take a sapling and plant it as I am and do what I am doing"
Sheikh Zayed started carrying a sapling, arranging bit of soil, and working independently. He actually brought a water pipe in the same way as planting, to irrigate the plants.
Al Falasi said he watched in solitude as Sheikh Zayed moved the mud around the palm tree "as if he was nurturing something in his own home." Al Falasi found it impactful to witness a state leader also getting down and dirty helping other people. Reflecting on what he watched unfold in front of him, he said, "To witness this example of a leader in the State, a man in every sense of the word, who loves the poor and fears the Lord, was a revelation."
Once they were finished, Sheikh Zayed praised the labourers, then asked Al Falasi: "Ahmed, how are you?
Al Falasi took this interaction to heart, later stating that on that day he walked away with an experience worth a million bucks. "I told him that I learned something today that I will never forget and will teach my kids and their kids until the end of time. And my role model: "When they asked Zayed bin Sultan to define your idol, he said: My idol.
