It comes after Emiratis working in UAE’s private sector reached 131,000 for the first time in 2024 — an increase of 350 per cent, it said on Thursday.

Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai on Thursday outlined the country’s record-breaking achievements for 2024 when he chaired the inaugural Cabinet meeting of 2025.

Emiratisation in the country — the stern reminders, the aggressive deterrent action on the violators — is having results. Nafis programme and its services in particular have been a major reason for this success, Sheikh Mohammed said.

Emiratisation is only one of many achievements that the UAE has recorded in 2024. The Vice-President also spoke of other milestones showing how the nation was exploding:

Economic indicators

Foreign exchange crossed Dh2.8 trillion for the first time. Foreign direct investment also stood at 130 billion dirhams and industrial exports came in at Dh 190 billion.

The economy is still vibrant as 200,000 companies come on board.

There are more Emirati young entrepreneurs also opening their own business. "Our youth established 25,000 small and medium enterprises which came into the country’s economic cycle," Sheikh Mohammed added.

Legislation

"A three-year journey by the UAE Government to review the legislations drafted since the establishment of the Union has ended," Vice-President added.
These policies were ratified by some 2,500 state personnel who worked together and negotiated them.

"The team completed reforming 80 per cent of the country’s economic, social and regulatory legislation which helped create a conducive environment for growth," Sheikh Mohammed added.

Tourism

Across tourist venues nationwide, over 30 million visitors in 2024, and 150 million travellers that flowed through airports alone.

National development

More than hitting and surpassing, the UAE Government outlines plans for the next 20 years.

"Over 750 national projects and programs [were launched] to aid the development and attract the best competencies, talent and investments to the UAE," Sheikh Mohammed added.

"We at Cabinet and Ministerial Development Council have promulgated 1,300 orders with the mission to establish the most efficient regulatory regime conducive to achieving the country's exponential growth in the next 20 years," he said.
