The UAE is considering implementing the “UAE Grand Tours” project which will allow the UAE to offer Tourism itineraries lasting up to 14 days which will enable tourists to visit the seven Emirates. 


There were talks on creating a digital platform for tourism packages under the “UAE Grand Tours” project to market the packages both within and outside the country during an Abu Dhabi meeting led by economy minister and chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri. 


The project will be developed in collaboration with local tourism authorities and tour operators in an effort to showcase the myriad tourism offerings of the UAE and increase the average length of stay of tourists to enable them explore all the UAE’s locations and landmarks. 


The tours will also include family oriented activities, culture, environmental as well as adventure tourism. 


Other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is also working on the GCC Grand Tours Visa initiative which aims to enable tourists to access all member countries using a single visa which will work like the Schengen visa. 


It's uncertain if the UAE plans to attach the 14-day touring itinerary with a newly proposed visa specifically for this tourism initiative under the "UAE Grand Tours" project.


Al Marri mentioned that hotel's guests increased by 9.5 percent annually in 2024 due to 16 new hotels openings into serviced. Simultaneously, occupancy reached 78 percent, making the UAE one of the regional and global leaders. Additionally, the tourism sector performed significantly in 2024, with a 3% increase in hotel earnings.  


“With our stakeholders from the public and private sectors, we, at Emirates Tourism Council, are actively working to advance national tourism through innovative projects and strategic initiatives," said Al Marri.  


Moreover, he highlighted that advanced policies and strategies have been adopted in regard to the UAE Sustainable Development Goals.  


Al Marri noted that this industry has been a priority within the long term sustainable development goals and has advanced policies and strategies underpinning them. "Al Marri said” the goal of the project is to enhance specific international markets and sustain promotions for tourism thorough the entire year.
