On September 15, 2024, UAE will acknowledge Prophet Muhammad's birthday, a significant Islamic event. This date is a public holiday for federal employees as decided by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).

This holiday, also known as Mawlid al-Nabi, is a moment to honor Prophet Muhammad (May peace be upon him). Regular work hours will start again on Monday, September 16, 2024.

The FAHR prompted a memo to all federal sections about Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday holiday for 1446 AH. This memo ensures everyone gets the public holiday information. It aims to clear up confusion about this important Islamic event and make sure everyone follows the same schedule.

The exact holiday date will be shared following the Islamic calendar. The Cabinet has agreed that on September 15, 2024, everyone, government and private sectors, will celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. This public holiday is the season for Mawlid al-Nabi, a break for everyone in the country.

The Authority sends congratulations to the UAE's leaders, government, people and to Islamic nations, on this occasion. They pray for health, wealth, happiness and for more growth and unity. The Authority celebrates this time to reflect and show its spiritual value.
