Musician Sarah Rocio Provenzani, based in the UAE, had an unusual path to the recording studio. Surprisingly, she didn't start playing music until she was 22 years old. The mixed Italian and Venezuelan heritage artist shares, “Music has always been a passion, but self-doubt was a big hurdle for me. It took my mom's push for me to finally sign up for music lessons.”

At 26 years old, she shares, "My studies in classical and jazz music led me to my love for electronic music, specifically melodic techno." This sparked the birth of her stage persona, Sarah R Jay. She chuckles as she explains, "In my musical journey as a vocalist and writer for electronic music and melodic techno, I proudly use the stage name ‘Sarah R Jay’. The 'Jay' is a nod to 'DJ' and is in honor of Michael Jackson, my cherished childhood pop icon."

Once unsure of her path, Sarah tried various roles and learning experiences. From being a Spanish teacher for children to studying business management in college, she explored her options. Yet, when she discovered a love for music, her world changed. She showed commitment to her newfound passion. Dive into her journey, she pursued certificates from London's Trinity College and joined the Ras Al Khaimah Music Zone.

After moving to the UAE, Sarah wanted a first-rate music center. She was lucky to stumble upon the Music Zone in Ras Al Khaimah. This music hub is under the patronage of the Ras Al Khaimah government and it offers incredible facilities for music lovers. She found solace there and was guided by experts like Ashleigh September, her singing mentor, and Sherif Mohsen, who assisted in her professional recording, fine-tuning, blending, and finalizing her piece.

As she expanded her world, she saw her music as a powerful tool. It could lead to change, evoke consciousness, and impact lives. "I aim to introduce a fresh vibe to the music industry and convey significant messages. Many are silent on certain matters, choosing to focus only on romance, relationships, and heartbreaks. Yet, I aspire to contribute something more profound."

Her first work was an impactful number, Sea of Sorrow, that emphasized the terrible situation faced by animals left alone with no support. Stray animal crisis is widespread in the UAE. Both animal shelters and individual volunteers share the need for education on pet ownership. They highlight the associated responsibilities and expected costs. The tune with voices was completed at Music Zone Studios on July 23. The mixing and final touches were added on August 15, she conveyed to City Times.

"The Sea of Sorrow reigns as a gripping ballad, infused with electronic beats. I aimed to nurture a sensation that stirs emotions, underpinned by potent drum and bass rhythms enhancing the intensity. The words are moulded to strike a chord in the listener's heart," expresses Sarah. A tribute to rescuers who, with unwavering dedication and selflessness, care for and feed homeless animals throughout all seven Emirates.

Meet Sarah, a dedicated cat lover. One day in 2019, she and her dad found a stray cat. Since that day, they've taken in countless strays. Fast forward to now, they're the proud guardians of 50 cats, split between indoors and outdoors. These cats get their daily meals and necessary medical procedures, it's a lot of work, but Sarah says it's vital. She bubbles with ideas to upscale their rescue mission.

Her one innovative suggestion is a nominal animal welfare tax, costing about as much as a coffee (Dh15), upon each new visa issuance. This could create a substantial fund, used to build more robust facilities like public shelters. These would help animals through trap, neuter, release programs and in finding foster or permanent homes.

She expresses the need for four basic things at these centers for every animal helper: medical aid, food, housing, and no-charge neutering services. "These aids must be given to found or deserted animals brought in by helpers (family pets should see personal vets, not these centers)," she recommends. She promotes a UAE-wide app linked to these wellness hubs, relaying available animals for adoption. "I aim to inspire, urging folks to look out for animals.

They are truly innocent and untainted; they don't need to suffer. They truly merit care and affection. If you adopt, they can shower you with unimaginable love. These magnificent creatures deserve all the attention."

Sarah, the singer, is currently creating her second single titled, Dubai's Moonlit Glow. She explains, "This song showcases the prettiness of Dubai's night time views under the moonlight." Though English isn't Sarah's first language, she reveals that she finds it the easiest for expressing herself musically. "English is the language I 'sing-think' in, but I could equally do it in Spanish or Italian.

Yet, paradoxically, speaking English can be a challenge. But in songwriting, it just pours out of me." Sarah believes that if natural flair is essential to success, then she's set. After all, she only needs to stick with her intuitive strength and sing.
