UAE announces distance learning for public school students during Ramadan
 
                                            
Students in public schools across the UAE will study through distance learning every Friday during Ramadan according to the Ministry of Education. Students that have received exam approval for Fridays during the holy month are not affected by this measure.
Parents who prefer their children to attend physical classes on Fridays can choose this option if they provide transportation for school travel. The teaching staff will monitor students while maintaining their standard school timetable.
The Ministry launched the “Ramadan with the Family” initiative through this announcement.
Parents can participate with their children in home-based student activities through a Ministry guide that fosters a supportive family environment during Ramadan.
The initiative reflects UAE leadership's vision to establish an inspiring environment for families and communities throughout Ramadan while instilling holy month values into young minds.The teaching staff will maintain their regular school attendance on Fridays throughout Ramadan.
The government reduced official working hours for public sector workers during the month of Ramadan. Employees will work from 9am to 2.30pm between Monday and Thursday while Fridays will have work hours from 9am to 12pm.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (Fahr) communicated on Sunday that certain employees will work different hours due to job requirements.
