Construction of a project with more than 3,000 apartments for an estimated price of Dh5.4 billion was given green signal on Sunday by the Dubai Ruler.

It would also strengthen the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, launched on 4 January, aimed at family stability, quality of life and work-life balance with financial, social and educational support.

"We want young people to get married, have good homes for families and our young people start their life in a better way," sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stated when announcing the approval of the project.

These housing units will be allocated in first priority for the beneficiaries of the "Dubai Weddings" programme which aims to assist young Emiratis in starting a family by making marriage easier in both economic and logistical terms.

The beneficiaries will be assigned to 3,004 new homes in Dubai. These will be labeled following:

  • 1,181 homes in Latifa City

  • 432 Houses in Wadi Al Amardi.

  • 100 houses in Makan hamlet of Hatta.

  • 67 Country and Rural homes.

  • Al Yalayis 5 606 house in Al Yalayis 5

  • 398 houses in Al Awir 1

  • Oud Al Muteena 120 homes in Oud Al Muteena.

‘Hind bint Maktoum, Hamdan bin Mohammed, Maktoum bin Mohammed and I will still do everything in order to ensure the happiness, security and peace of our people’, the Dubai Ruler went on.

The Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme launched by Sheikh Mohammed’s wife also provides 10-day paid marriage leave for wives working in government offices in Dubai and remote work Fridays for mothers in the first year of maternity leave.

"Better futures require strong families. "We will make a promise to deliver the dreams of all Dubai Emirati families and bring them everlasting happiness and security and help them cultivate the next generation to build a better tomorrow," Sheikha Hind said in a statement from Dubai Government Media Office (GMO).

The scheme even reduces the monthly premium on housing loans to at least Dh3,333 for beneficiaries of Dubai Weddings scheme as long as they do not earn more than Dh30,000 per month.

They made these announcements on January 4 — the Day of Accession of Sheikh Mohammed as Ruler of Dubai. He had this year celebrated the day with his wife, "the most beautiful thing" in his life, his "best fan" and the "heart of Dubai".
