Sheikh Hamdan to begin first official visit to India tomorrow
Dubai Media Office said on Monday that the official visit of Dubai's Sheikh Hamdan begins early on Tuesday, April 8.
Her visit is in response to an official invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a two-day visit. This will be Sheikh Hamdan's first official visit to India in his capacity as Dubai's Crown Prince.
The Dubai Crown Prince will also meet senior Indian officials to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and elevating collaboration in several areas of strategic interest.
On April 8, PM Modi will have a working lunch for Sheikh Hamdan. He will also meet Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
The second day of this official visit will see Sheikh Hamdan visit Mumbai on 9 April. He will also attend a business roundtable with major business leaders from both nations during the visit.
Dubai has been at the heart of India-UAE bilateral commercial, cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The number of Indians in the UAE was close to 4 million in early 2024.
On September 8 of last year, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also made an official visit to India.
He held discussions on all areas of bilateral cooperation, when he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sept 9. He also paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
This followed the completion of his India trip where he participated in a Business Forum in Mumbai on September 10 before returning to the UAE.
