Sharjah announces unified SMS payment format for public parking users

Sharjah announced Thursday that the public parking payment system via SMS now operates uniformly throughout all its cities starting March 6. The city code 'KH' which Khor Fakkan formerly used has been discontinued according to Sharjah Municipality.

The public authority stated that their work to improve parking services throughout Sharjah strives to deliver a more integrated and effective experience for all users.

Motorists can send an SMS to 5566 with their plate's source and number and the parking duration in hours as shown here according to the municipality
 

The parking system in Sharjah received several updates since the last quarter of 2024 including seven-day parking zones and smart parking installations along with new parking fees implemented in Al Dhaid and Kalba city.

The new smart parking sites in Al Khan and Al Nad provide a total of 392 parking spaces.

Sharjah introduced a new application last week that enables users to pay public parking fees and manage their parking fines. Mawqef is an app that uses interactive maps to help users find subscription zones and smart parking yards throughout the emirate. App notifications will inform users about their parking place usage and how to renew subscriptions.
