RTA to auction 90 special numbers on December 28

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to auction 90 premium 2- to 5-digit vehicle licence plates during the 117th Open Licensing Plates Auction on Saturday, December 28. 

Codes (AA, BB, K, O, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z) and their plates are presented by two super plates — the coveted AA21 and BB55. Auction at InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel, from 4.30pm. 

Bidders will be invited to register starting Monday, December 23. Bidders can pre-register at the RTA website or Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Al Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha. 

The auction house will be limited in number of seats, and the first come first serve will be given to registered bidders, the authority added. There will also be on-site registration from 2pm on the auction day, RTA said. 

There is a 5% VAT applicable on participation in the auction. Every buyer needs to have a Dubai traffic file and a refundable security cheque of Dh25,000 paid to RTA. 

There is also a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120 to be paid in the corresponding Customer Happiness Centres. You can also pay by credit card on the website or Dubai Drive App.
