The UAE implements changes in various areas before Ramadan begins. This year brought new changes which affected toll gate operation timings and employee working hours as well as remote learning for students and park timings.

During Ramadan authorities warn drivers about the higher risk of traffic accidents which commonly happen during pre-Iftar hours. Motorists need to exercise additional caution throughout this period.

This guide details paid parking system modifications for Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi.

Dubai

During the holy month Dubai has divided paid parking hours into two separate time periods every Monday through Saturday to accommodate motorist needs.

The city's Roads and Transport Authority declared that parking charges will apply between 8am to 6pm during the first period and between 8pm to 12am for the second period.

Parking remains fee-free from 6pm to 8pm during these days with Sunday offering free parking throughout the day. Multi-level parking structures will remain operational around the clock.

Sharjah

The emirate of Sharjah will implement extended paid public parking hours during Ramadan.

Parking fees will be collected from 8am until midnight for motorists. The paid parking period during Ramadan extends for two additional hours beyond the regular 8am to 10pm paid parking schedule seen throughout other months.

As usual, motorists will not be required to pay for parking on Fridays.

Ajman

The emirate of Ajman divided its paid public parking schedule into two separate time blocks throughout Ramadan weekdays. During these days motorists will face parking charges from 9am to 1pm in the morning and again from 8pm to 12pm in the evening.

Parking will be free for everyone between 1pm and 8pm.

Abu Dhabi

During the holy month in Abu Dhabi, paid parking remains operational from 8am to 12pm throughout the emirate according to the existing Mawaqif schedule. Darb toll gate hours will undergo changes during the holy month.

Motorists will face charges between Monday and Saturday during morning peak hours from 8am to 10am. Motorists face peak hour tolls during the evening from 2pm until 4pm.
