Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi closed on December 25 for Christmas, Quaid-i-Azam Day

The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi will observe closed holidays on December 25, 2025.

The mission announced the death Sunday, Dec. 22. It will be closed for the day on account of Christmas and Quaid-i-Azam Day.

The second is a public holiday in Pakistan on 25 December — the day Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan was born.

Christmas celebration at Pakistan Embassy

The embassy on Monday held Christmas celebrations for the Pakistani Christian community in Abu Dhabi. The community’s families and senior embassy officials participated in the event.

Addressing the event, Shafqat Ali Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, underlined the need for tolerance, peace and inter-faith harmony.

Supplications were made for progress and stability of Pakistan. There was a sprinkling of Christmas cheer, carols around the tree and a cake-cutting ceremony etc.

Is it a public holiday in UAE?

Christmas Day is not an official public holiday in the country, though companies and institutions are able to use their discretion internally to treat their staff to a day off. There are a growing number of companies in the UAE that opt to make the day time off so employees can travel and spend it with their families.

The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi will remain shut on December 25 to mark Christmas and Quaid-i-Azam Day — set your appointment schedules accordingly.
