EDGE, a prominent advanced technology and defense group, has secured a historic contract with the UAE Ministry of Defence, signing the largest-ever order for unmanned helicopter systems. The deal involves the supply of 200 HT-100 and HT-750 unmanned helicopters to enhance the UAE's VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) capabilities. Switzerland-based ANAVIA, an EDGE entity specializing in autonomous aerial capabilities, will manufacture the unmanned VTOL systems. The helicopters, HT-100 and HT-750, are designed for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) as well as logistics missions, providing outstanding flight stability while transporting heavy payloads.

Khaled Al Zaabi, President of Platform and Systems at EDGE Group, expressed the significance of the landmark deal, marking a milestone for the HT-100 and HT-750 systems as well as for EDGE. This order, the largest for ANAVIA and the first by the UAE Ministry of Defence for these advanced aircraft, reflects the global confidence in these exceptional products. Al Zaabi emphasized EDGE's strategy of forming mutually beneficial partnerships worldwide, exemplified by the collaboration with ANAVIA. The acquisition of a 52% majority shareholding in ANAVIA by EDGE in November 2023 strengthens the partnership, allowing the expansion of technological capabilities across various domains and contributing to the development of sovereign capabilities in air, land, and naval domains.

The compact HT-100 and larger HT-750 unmanned helicopters are set to play a crucial role in advancing the UAE's defense capabilities. The deal underscores EDGE's commitment to sustainable growth, technological innovation, and the development of strategic partnerships in defense and technology sectors globally. The unmanned systems are expected to contribute significantly to mission-critical surveillance, reconnaissance, and transportation, aligning with EDGE's diverse portfolio of capabilities.

This contract reflects the UAE's continuous efforts to invest in cutting-edge defense technologies and strengthen its defense capabilities. It positions EDGE as a key player in the development and deployment of advanced unmanned systems, showcasing the country's commitment to staying at the forefront of defense innovation. The partnership with ANAVIA is poised to drive advancements in autonomous aerial capabilities, reinforcing EDGE's role as a leader in the defense and technology landscape.
