Eid Al Adha is approaching, which means families have started planning vacations, with Europe emerging as the most popular travel destination this year. As highlighted by Musafir Holidays, the increase in inquiries regarding holiday plans this year alone has risen by 40 percent compared to the previous year, indicating more people want vacations packed with activities.

Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Latvia, and Budapest also make the residents’ list as they seek cooler temperatures, iconic sites, and cultural immersion. The far east also has Japan emerging as a popular choice for a dream vacation.

As per travel specialists, the majority of these vacationers opt for multi-city travel packages spanning between eight to 10 days to maximize their sightseeing experiences.

“Not only are individuals seeking a break, but an experience,” noted Raheesh Babu, COO of Musafir.com. “The demand for both short, affordable getaways in Asia and once-in-a-lifetime trips to Europe is on the rise.”

Babu notes, “These destinations provide an exceptional blend of luxurious cities, family friendly seaside entertainment, and affordable business class travel.” Thailand, Hong Kong, Bali, Malaysia, and Singapore continue to remain quintessential for family vacations. Aside from the ideal combination of vibrant city life, exquisite beaches, and family entertainment, they are visa friendly and ideal for three to five day vacations.

Data shows that around 35 – 40 percent of bookings for Eid are made to Europe, with Switzerland and Latvia leading due to smoother visa processes and value-for-money itineraries. Almost 60 percent of bookings are family travel, while women-only vacations are rising with an expected growth of 15 percent from last year.

Millennials looking for independence fuel solo travel, and it remains popular. The convenience and cost-effectiveness of group travel has resulted in a ten percent increase in group tours.

Many are now trying to travel at least three weeks to five weeks prior to their trip for the UK, India, South East Asia, and Europe as they do not want to pay the exorbitant airfares associated with last minute travel. Roughly sixty percent of travelers are booking in advance.

According to the latest analysis, travel restrictions have also resulted in an increase in domestic travel, particularly family getaways that are planned before the summer holiday to prevent overspending. UAE hotels are anticipating nearly 100% capacity during Eid.

These categories can now be applied to trending destinations.

  • Luxury or bucket-list trips: Japan, Switzerland, France

  • Cultural or family-friendly activities: Malaysia, Bali, Malaysia

  • Affordable holidays: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia

  • Emerging hot spots: AlUla, Morocco, Latvia, Uzbekistan

Travel expenses are estimated to be in the area of Dh3,500 to Dh5,500 per person as people seem to be more interested in what is being dubbed affordable luxury which combines culture, comfort and planned activities.

Fly Dubai’s newly introduced holiday packages start as low as Dh2,249 and go as high as the offer extends to include other destinations like Baku, Langkawi, Kuala, the Maldives and Krabi. These packages include round trip tickets and accommodation making them available until May 15th for bookings scheduled between June 5th and 9th.

According to David Ganji, managing director of The Holidave Travel, other parts of Central Asia are becoming the region’s hidden gem, including MRT Kazakhstan, Baku, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, alongside Uzbekistan due to the ease of immigration, cultural richness, and beautiful landscapes.

“These places are less than four hours away and provide real value. People want something meaningful when they travel without the hassle,” he said.

Speaking on Kazakhstan’s advantages, Ganji mentioned, “Georgia remains an all-time favorite with its stunning mountains, bustling cities, and easy visa access for UAE residents for a rapid yet fulfilling getaway.” “Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are emerging as hidden gems, offering stunning summer vistas and genuine nomadic experiences, both accessible with visa on arrival,” added Ganji.
