Dubai to get new 7-storey paid parking terminal in Deira

Seven-storey barrierless smart parking garage, with 350 spaces, will be erected in Dubai’s Al Sabkha district, Parkin Company said Tuesday. 

The public parking operator Parkin said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation (Awqaf Dubai) to construct the multi-storey car park in the community, which is in the popular Deira area. 

The parking structure will be approximately 175,000sqft and another 9,600sqft of ground floor retail that will generate extra revenue for Parkin, the company added. 

"Over a 25-year period, the venture will bring in Dh 200 million for Awqaf Dubai," Parkin added. "The deal will see Awqaf Dubai finance the asset development and Parkin using its world class experience to own, manage and maintain the barrierless smart parking facility. 

As long as the planning permission holds, the building could be ready for occupancy in the second half of 2025, with build-time taking roughly two years, said Parkin.
