Dubai: Sunlight after dark? This entrepreneur wants to make solar energy limitless
Imagine a city that never dims, where factories hum with life even in the darkest hours and agricultural lands prosper under an endless sun. Picture a joystick controlling sunlight, reflecting it as needed anytime. "We offer sunshine after dark," stated Ben Nowack, co-founder and CEO of Reflect Orbital.
In January, Nowack showcased this innovative principle in a conference with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE. When asked about Sheikh Hamdan's reaction, "It was very favorable," Nowack said on the second day of the World Government Summit.
For the UAE, a country currently investing greatly in solar energy and sustainability, Nowack believes that Reflect Orbital's innovation might be a 'game-changer'. With its enthusiastic Vision 2021 and sustainability objectives, the ability to harness sunlight beyond daytime hours aligns completely with the UAE's commitment to sustainable energy. Nowack emphasised, "In Dubai, we might extend solar efficiency into the night, powering skyscrapers and industries long after the sun sets."
Nowack discussed how his pioneering endeavor intends to illuminate metropolitan landscapes, fight anxiety in sun-deprived cities, and revolutionise farming with an item that could basically be referred to as "sunshine in a bottle." These developments promise to make sure that sunshine reaches solar storage centers even at night, effectively eliminating the obstacles positioned by the absence of daytime.
Reviewing his experiences, Nowack stated, "Every society and civilization reaches a tipping point where development fulfills requirement. We remain in among those transformative times, driven by rapid technological change." He elaborated on the capacity of this technology to reshape markets and improve lives.
However what does this mean for people? Nowack clarified that while the preliminary focus may be on larger-scale executions, there is a vision for personal usage also. "Imagine having the ability to buy sunshine for your home throughout the dark winter season-- perfect for those fighting with seasonal depression," he stated. This idea reaches numerous sectors, from construction to agriculture, where the ability to access sunshine as needed might change the video game completely.
