Dubai Police to launch digital officer to help tourists in emergencies
While exhibiting at the Gitex Global Technology event at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the armed forces introduced their recent technological advancement: an integrated digital tourism officer incorporated in the Dubai Police app.
This online officer was presented by Lieutenant Ahmed Nasser Zari from the Tourist Police Department where this online officer is being launched in the very first phase. Thus, last week alone, the digital officer undertook 469 conversations and was able to successfully deal with 461 of them, leaving only eight requiring human intervention. This confirms the effectiveness of this recent technology.
A testament to the digital officer’s capabilities was given by Lieutenant Ahmed during a demonstration as he simulated a situation where he had misplaced a phone. The digital officer hurriedly inquired whether the phone was misplaced in a hotel room, taxi and such.
In a mere span of three minutes, it was able to successfully collect and guarantee that the user’s information would be needed for follow up soon. It was even stated that the hotel can be called on behalf of the user.
Apart from rendering support only in an emergency, the digital officer extends to the tourists a variety of activities such as themewise and special needs orientated travel packages. It serves as an all-in-one travel concierge vowing tourists do not encounter any challenges during their stay in Dubai.
Lt. Ahmed has also planned a few steps for the progression of the same offi...Later phases will see the digital officer being attached to every division with the objective of improving the services rendered to visitors.
However, given the recent trends, this approach is a crucial among the endeavors by the city of Dubai to implement more appropriate technological tools which aim at improving the tourism experience within the city.
