The roadblocks and congestion on the way to two more Dubai schools will be reduced by 35-50 per cent which is a huge relief for people, especially the parents on the way to and from the drop off and pick up of their children.

As part of road construction in the schools area, the Roads and Transport Authority have created 150 parking spaces for each at Repton School Dubai in Nad Al Sheba and GEMS Al Khaleej International School in Al Warqa.

Parking Spaces at Repton School Dubai in Nad Al Sheba doubled to 300. There are now 270 car parks in Al Khaleej International School in Al Warqa — an increase of 125 per cent.

And now, the municipality has even opened safe doors and exits to the expanded parking areas. These school zones are also fitted with pedestrian crossings and walking lanes, directions signs, traffic signals and traffic management.

Across some of Dubai’s school zones, travel times have been 15-20 per cent reduced due to extensive road improvements in the past few months for 37 schools.

Not only has the RTA increased traffic to the schools but it also provides more parking spaces for employees and parents. It also widened school entrances and exits, and created traffic diversions in adjacent areas.
