Dubai motorists can ‘park now, pay later’, dispute fines as Parkin launches new app
Parkin PJSC which operates the biggest paid public parking facilities in Dubai launched a new mobile app to improve parking transactions at their facilities on Monday. The app includes multiple functions such as the ability to park now and pay later together with a real-time parking space locator.
The Parkin app which users can download on both iOS and Android platforms enables them to pay parking fines while providing features for disputing charges and requesting refunds.
Parkin explained that the app’s real-time parking finder and clustering features help users rapidly discover open parking spaces while advanced search functionality allows users to easily locate both on-street and off-street parking options in live availability.
Motorists can book their parking spaces before arrival by adding future parking reservations to their calendar for quick reference.
Parkin's PayLater option allows users to defer payments while dynamic auto-renewal maintains uninterrupted service and creates a smooth parking fee payment process.
The Parkin app provides an intuitive and efficient solution that focuses on user convenience because it was created with customers in mind, according to Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, adding: Through the streamlining of parking procedures and user empowerment we advance urban movement capabilities while supporting Dubai’s strategic Urban Master Plan for sustainability and connectivity by 2040.
How to use the app
Motorists can register in three ways: Users can register through three different methods including account creation and registration through UAE Pass or RTA accounts or by filling out the Parkin registration form.
Customers who log in to the app can pay for public parking spaces at multi-storey car parks and for private parking facilities provided by developers.
The app combines parking permits with device wallets to centralize all parking information which facilitates better access and parking management.
The application provides wallet management for top-ups along with vehicle management options and seasonal parking subscription services.
Convenience of autopay
Parkin states that their new app delivers an uninterrupted user experience by removing the requirement for physical tickets and manual payment methods.
AutoPay lets customers make their parking payments in a hassle-free way because it removes the need for physical tickets and manual payment processes.
Automatic number-plate recognition technology identifies vehicles during entry and exit operations by matching plate numbers to users' registered payment methods to deduct fees automatically.
Passenger can access this functionality at multi-storey car parks under Parkin management and through Pakin partners like Majid Al Futtaim which operates large shopping destinations including Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre.
According to Parkin customers can use the app to obtain detailed amenity information while conveniently reserving parking spaces or extending tickets which improves their parking experience.
Future app updates
Parkin will add EV charging services to the app and customers will pay both their EV charging and parking fees through one digital wallet transaction.
Parkin plans to provide select parking locations with vehicle maintenance services including car washing, mobile refuelling options and other essential maintenance tasks like engine oil changes and battery inspections.
The Dubai Municipality started parking operations in 1995 until they joined the RTA in 2005. Parkin Company PJSC was established in December 2023 and started trading on the Dubai Financial Market in March of the previous year. During the initial nine months of 2024 customers of Parkin completed about 95 million parking transactions.
