Dubai jobs: Thousands of vacancies in airport, airlines over next 6 years
A smattering of figures indicate that presently, Dubai employs approximately 631000 people in job areas mostly characterized with aviation. At least one in five employment opportunities in the Dubai area are aviation related.
According to the projection, it is expected that the number of persons working in activities related to aviation will increase to 816,000 following another 185,000 persons expected in Dubai's aviation space by 2030 as outlined in a recent report published by both Dubai airports and Emirates Group.
The 2030 figure is consistent with that predicted in the research, which indicated that 631, 000 people were directly employed in aviation-related roles and that a fifth of Dubai's population was employed in aviation-related roles as of 2023. This contribution will increase to one in twenty-four by 2030.

Al Maktoum to support 132,000 jobs
The world’s biggest airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, will reach its full operational capacity, and provide immense growth for the aviation sector and job opportunities. The aviation sector is experiencing healthy growth today and the new airport will boost its progress tremendously.
Employment as a percentage of the GDP in Dubai stood at about 72 percent. When the construction project is completed, it will contribute at least Dh 6.1billion to the GDP of Dubai which will be roughly equivalent to 1% of the GDP. It has the potential to create about 132000 jobs which will be 3.7% of total employment in Dubai.
Furthermore, taking into consideration the present worldwide airports, expansion plans, economic boost and other related factors, additional work and employment opportunities will be generated. Sheikh Ahmed remarked, "The construction of Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport is an integral part of our plans, and along with Dubai International investments, it will bring various opportunities to Dubai.”
When fully completed, Al Maktou International will be larger than the current DXB, while the estimated cost of this new airport would be $128 billion. The first phase of construction will take roughly 10 years with an approximate target of serving about 260 million travelers yearly.
Direct jobs by Emirates, Dubai Airports
According to the findings, Emirates Airline, along with the Dubai Airports and others in the aviation industry, is anticipated to generate around 24,000 direct new job opportunities by the year 2030 since the aviation business is poised to continue to soar in the years ahead.
Last year, they had 103,000 employees in their organization, however industry projections estimate this will grow to 127,000 employees by 2030 which would be a more than 23 % increase. “Backed by strong air linkage, Dubai is the World trade, investments and tourism hub and is also a strategic partner in aviation and logistics as well,” said Sheikh Ahmed.
In 2023, Emirates provided 106,000 jobs, of which this number will grow to 135,000 by 2030. Likewise, Dubai Airports and other aviation sector entities will expand from 33,000 in 2022 to 48,000 by 2030.
So far, Emirates created 413,000 jobs, which is almost an 8th of the number of total jobs available in the emirate.
With regard to Dubai Airports and other aviation sector entities, 67,000 jobs were created in 2023, which is equal to 1 out of every 48 jobs within the city. This number is expected to rise through 87,000 in 2030.
Conversely, Dubai Airports and other aviation sector entities supported an overall total of 396,000 jobs across the emirate. The number is expected to advance even further with a predicted total of 516,000 jobs by 2030; the number is so because it is expected that core impact jobs alone will be 87,000, above which, jobs supported through catalytic impact will be 429,000.
