Flying Emirates A350 flying in your area to deliver your parcel to your gate. What the airline based in the magic kingdom has teased as one and an image of which has brought new VIP service to a VIPs as “ very important parcel ”.

Since this was announced a week in advance, we'll see if this turns out to be an April Fool's Day joke — something the airline is well known for.

Using what it described as an "out of the box" extension of commercial airline delivery service models, Emirates said it was offering an innovative new service to take V-I-Ps (very important parcels) literally "from door-step to door-step, with an level of service and care that has won the airline international recognition and awards."

Emirates said the service was designed in partnership with select customers. It has “already garnered excellent response” in proof-of-concept trials, specifically designed for the unique needs of V-I-Ps.

The carrier said: "The service will launch across Emirates' global network, starting with seven markets, and be scaled from initial availability to V-I-Ps."

April 1 is usually a day for wild stories, and Emirates has a reputation for some truly creative — and serious-sounding — announcements that even the most sceptical reader can believe. Which in turn Metz & Associates unveiled a 380-storey Emirates Residences in 2024. It was to include its own "private airport exclusively for residents" and was slated to break ground on February 31, 2025 (get it? In case not here, you guesse it (How many has February?).

In 2023, the airline 'unveiled' an ultra-lux cruise line — this time, a cruise liner with the volume shown passing by Atlantis. Bookings were scheduled to launch on June 31  and the inaugural cruise scheduled to depart from Dubai Harbour to Karachi on April 1, 2024. Among the legendary pranks are a see-through sky lounge, a three level plane, and a no-driver taxi.

The 2025 announcement shows no obvious signs of a prank tho — except for the A350 chilling in the middle of a subdivision.
