Dubai: Drone use for individuals still suspended in the emirate 'until further notice'
Flying drones for personal use remains forbidden in Dubai. The statement comes after UAE General Civil Aviation Authority GCAA lifted a ban on individual drone owners in some conditions earlier this week on Tuesday.
Nevertheless, this advisory does not apply to Dubai – this is under the DCAA jurisdiction.
This letter that many residents received from the local authority on Wednesday morning was clear enough: ‘We would like to inform you that the use of drones for recreational purposes continues to be suspended in the emirate of Dubai until further notices.’
Here’s a screenshot with the email in full:
An official from the DCAA’s customer service call center said that the ban on the recreational use of drones remains in force . The Administrator said that ‘as soon as the ban is lifted, the DCAA will communicate that through an announcement.’
The DCAA also encourages the public to respect the regulations of the emirate and follow its social media accounts for the newest information.
